Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia written and edited by anyone who wants to contribute to its content. For this reason, traditional scholars have railed against Wikipedia, banning their students from using it as a reliable source of information. Such university professors argue that if anyone can write or edit a Wikipedia entry, regardless of his/her education or knowledge base, then the information in that entry will not be accurate. Students should, instead, rely on well-established encyclopedias, like Encyclopedia Britannica, that have articles written by experts and edited by professional editors. This will ensure accurate and trustworthy information.
