Speaking Methods
Standardized Notes
TOEFL doesn't give you much time to prepare your answer, only 15-30 seconds. Therefore, we train you to use standard templates for your notes. This way, you do not have to think about how you're going to organize your answer. The template does the organizing for you. All you have to do is fill in the empty spaces on the template and your answer is ready in seconds!
Standardized Scripts
Once you have your notes clearly organized by using Strictly English's templates (described above), you then have to speak your answer clearly and with confidence. Our scripts train you to speak smoothly, with perfect grammar, and without hesitation. For example, since every Task 5 is a discusses a student problem, our script for Task 5 begins, "Both the man and woman are talking about the [man's / woman's] problem." Such a strong first sentence makes you more confident as you give the rest of your answer.
Predictable Tasks
We will teach you what to expect for each Task, and the common variations that may occur. This way you'll never be surprised by TOEFL. This allows you to predict typical outcomes and responses to situations, even before you've finished reading or listening!
Perfect Timing
Since TOEFL only gives you 45-60 seconds to respond for each Task, you have to time each part of your response carefully so that you don't talk too much about one thing and not enough about another. That's why Strictly English's scripts are also broken down into how many seconds it should take you to say each section of your answer. For example, in Task 1, you have 45 seconds to respond. Therefore, Strictly English trains you to use 15 seconds for your introduction, 15 seconds to explain your first reason, and 15 seconds to explain your second reason.
Create Detailed Responses
TOEFL rewards specifics. The more details, the better. But this does not mean giving a long list of, for example, fruits you like to eat. That's not really giving "details". So instead, we teach you how to provide the kind of specific details TOEFL values. Such details are the only way to score a 27 or above.

Some of Our Speaking Strategies
- Speak slowly
Learn how to speak slowly without sounding too slow. This gives you time to think, and it helps the TOEFL grader to understand you.
- Speak in complete sentences
Too often, students speak in fragmented sentence or run-ons sentences. This makes it hard for the TOEFL grader to understand you. Therefore, we teach you how to speak in complete sentence.
- Use perfect intermediate English
You do not need advanced English for a high speaking score. What you do need is to clearly communicate, and this can be done with perfect intermediate English.
- Use details
Avoid repeating generalizations in your answers. The more details you give, the more unique and persuasive your answer will be.
